IRVINE, Calif. – Just days before the Golden Coast Conference Tournament gets underway, a pair of Concordia Eagles were recognized as part of the league's best.
CUI leading scorer
Madison Ravelo was named Second Team All-GCC after leading the Eagles with both 59 goals and 40 recorded assists this year. She scored five goals on four different occasions and also scored four times
Ravelo was also ranked first in the entire league with 99 points. She collected the second-most goals and recorded assists in the league this regular season.
Goalie
Tatiana Cava also earned respect from head coaches across the conference and was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. Cava repeatedly kept the Eagles in games and consistently came up with clutch saves late in games. Cava and the CUI defense held opponents to nine goals or less on eight occasions this season. Fittingly, the Green and Gold were 7-1 in those contests.
This included a breakthrough victory over California Baptist University and a home win over No. 20 Brown University.
Cava, Ravelo and the entire CUI squad jumps back into the pool this Friday in the first round of the GCC Tournament. CUI faces the University of Pacific Tigers at noon out in Riverside.
The entire tournament is hosted by California Baptist University and you can follow the action multiple ways.
