MALIBU, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine men's volleyball team finished the series against No. 8 Pepperdine on Saturday in three sets. The Waves took the match with scores 25-17, 25-17, and a hard third set 25-22.
Outsider hitter
Jonathan Carlson led the match for the Eagles with 10 kills and four digs. Carlson contributed up at the net defensively with a block and one solo that came at a critical moment for the Green and Gold.
Logan Glave finished with nine kills and
Uriel Batista added five.
Middles
Mason Mullins and
Max McCullough had four kills each while
Gil Herold contributed with two. Mullins hit an impressive .667 and had two blocks in the middle.
McLain Mott and
Makai Lipson had evenly distributed assists with 17 and 18 respectively.
Erik Boisvert was the libero and scooped up three digs and two assists. Lipson was the only Eagle to have an ace on the night.
CUI will finish MPSF conference play next week as they take on USC in a two day series starting Friday, Apr. 8 in Los Angeles, Calif. and then back in the CU Arena on Saturday, Apr. 9. Both matches have a start time of 7 p.m.
