IRVINE, Calif. - Sophomore guard
Kobe Sanders posted 14 points on Homecoming for the Golden Eagles but Concordia lost to No. 21 Point Loma 73-55 on Saturday night.
Freshman
Jackson Tucker also had a strong outing as he went for 13 points on the night while grabbing two rebounds.
The Golden Eagles fought hard on defense against nationally-ranked Point Loma swatting two balls away and swiping four steals.
Junior big man
Bryce Fitzgerald collected nine points coming in as the Golden Eagles third-highest scorer on the night.
Alumni and members of the first Concordia men's basketball team to ever make the NCAA DII West Regional tournament were in attendance, including Geoff Gerlach and Cameron English. Coach
Ken Ammann's squad and Point Loma both made the tournament in March 2019.
CUI starts their Northern California road trip next week when they face Academy of Art on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. before traveling to Dominican on Saturday.
