Box Score HONOLULU, Hawaii- Hawaii is paradise for many and for CUI women's basketball they're enjoying every second of it. The Golden Eagles clobbered Chaminade 94-53 Thursday night in Honolulu.
This victory pushes their win streak to five games and their PacWest conference record to 7-1. The 39-point win is a,so the largest margin of victory this season for the Green and Gold.
CUI came out the gates strong as they scored 53 points in the first half. Not only were all the buckets falling for the Golden Eagles, but they were also grabbing every rebound. They collected 61 rebounds on the night, and 29 of them were on the offensive side of the ball.
Freshman
Maggie Teven recorded a season-high in both rebounds and points posting seven apiece. Sophomore
Teagan Thurman led the team with 12 boards to go along with 13 points.
Sophomore guard
Camryn Kiernan led all Golden Eagles on the night with 16 points going a solid 4-for-5 from behind the arc. The 16 points also marked a season-high for the Fullerton native.
Fellow Mater Dei High School alum and current senior
Destiny Sambrano as well as sophomore
Caylee Santos made their presence felt off the bench. Sambrano shot 83% from the charity stripe and had five points while Santos swarmed the Silverswords on defense and sank a timely trey.
The Golden Eagles look to stay hot when they travel to Hilo Saturday Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.
