San Rafael, Calif.- It was a memorable Sunday afternoon for the CUI women's volleyball team as they defeated the DU Penguins in their first match of the NorCal series. CUI showed dominance throughout the match as the team overtook Dominican with scores 25-10, 25-20, and 25-10. CUI is now 6-4 in conference and 10-8 overall.

Spectators from home and in the Ice Box were counting down as senior
Kirra Schulz recorded her 1,000
th career kill in the third set of the match. Schulz is now one of nine Golden Eagles to ever hit this milestone, an achievement not made since the 2017 season. Schulz ended the match with 12 kills at .391 and seven digs. The 2x PacWest player of the week now has 1,001 kills in her career and counting.

The Golden eagles all impressed on Sunday's match as,
Ola Magiera put up 10 kills at .400 and
Caitlin Jarrell added eight more at .583.
Danielle McCasland added six kills and
Kennedy Farley was close behind with five. CUI had an impressive team hitting percentage of .407 completely overtaking the Penguins who had a combined team percentage of .028.

Kawehi Chang and
Alyson Fullbright led the green and gold in assists with a combined 31. Chang also led CUI in digs with nine and
Delaney Risse added five more.
