Golden Eagles Outshine Sunbirds

IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball teamed earned their third straight win after beating Fresno Pacific in their first duel of the season. CUI finished the match in four sets with scores 25-22, 20-25, 25-14, and 25-19.
 
Junior Kennedy Farley had an impressive match with 14 kills while hitting a .448 with only one error. The outside hitter also added nine digs and one solo block. Kirra Schulz scooped up nine digs followed by 17 kills and not to mention and impressive four aces throughout the match.
 
Alex Parisian and Kayden Croy came into the game for two sets and added three kills a-piece and one block. Both Danielle McCasland and Cassie Prior contributed to CUI with two kills while McCasland continues to be a force behind the service line and serving up two aces.
 
Caitlin Jarrell was stellar in the middle as she put down seven kills and contributed four blocks up at the net. Mattie Prior had another solid performance up at the net with two solo blocks and block assists.
 
Delaney Risse wore the libero jersey and scooped up 17 digs along with Julia Wilson coming into the back row and contributed with five digs. Duo setters Kawehi Chang and Alyson Fullbright had 18 and 26 assists. Chang tied her career-high of four aces while Fullbright had two and had a combined nine digs.
 
The Golden Eagles will play against Fresno Pacific on the road Wednesday Nov. 8 with a 6 p.m. start time. CUI will be back in the area Saturday Nov. 11 against APU at 5 p.m.
