Box Score 2 THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The Concordia Golden Eagles women's water polo team played two hard-fought games on Saturday afternoon
In both games, CUI showed flashes of greatness in their defense as well as their depth on the offensive side. The first matchup of the day featured a hard fought battle with nationally ranked CSU Northridge.
Though the Golden Eagles fell short 12-9, Head Coach Casey Greenawalt's first year at the helm of this program has shown that his squad is a tough team to put away.
Madison Ravello would lead Concordia with five goals on seven shots in an excellent display of accuracy. Four other Golden Eagles would find the back of the net which included
Kim Reidel,
Allie Gaetano,
Ta'iuta Uiagalelei, and
Andie Perreira.
In the second matchup of the day, CUI was firing on all cylinders against Cal Lutheran. The Golden Eagles hung 12 goals on the day against the Regals while holding them to only one in the first half.
Ravello would add four more goals to her tally for the day as Reidel, Gaetano, and Perreira combined for 6 goals. Freshman
Jericho Callender and senior
Emily Tucker also contributed goals of their own as Concordia came away with the 12-7 win
CUI will be back in action on Friday Feb. 17 at Chapman University.Â
