STANFORD, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine men's volleyball team traveled up north to play against No. 9 Stanford. Stanford took control of the match and finished in three sets with scores 25-14, 25-18, and 25-15.
Freshman
Gage Doble led the Golden Eagles with seven kills while serving up an ace and two digs along the way.
Uriel Batista and
Johnny Anselmo both contributed with five kills each. Batista served up a team-high of the night with two aces and dug up three.
Gil Herold and
Cole Vigo combined for a total of three kills in the middle with
Maxwell McCullough putting up three block assists.
Liam Roberts and
Connor Dell came into the match and had a kill a-piece. Setter
Makai Lipson had 16 assists and led CUI with six digs with
Jacob Reilly in the libero position adding four digs.
The Golden Eagles will play against Stanford to complete the series Saturday Apr. 1 at 7 p.m. CUI will play No. 8 Pepperdine for a two game series starting in the CU Arena on Thursday Apr. 6 at 7 p.m. following in Malibu, Calif. Saturday Apr. 8 with a 6 p.m. start time.
