Hilo, Hawai'i- The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team began their road trip Thursday night as they took on the UHH Vulcans in a five-set match. The Golden Eagles finished with scores 25-19, 23-25, 22-25, 25-15, and 11-15.
Alyson Fullbright finished with 24 assists along with
Kawehi Chang adding 21. Sophomore libero,
Delaney Risse finished the match with 15 digs along with
Kirra Schulz adding 17 and Fullbright contributing 11. Dani McCasland had two untouched aces for the eagles, along with Chang at three.
Senior
Kirra Schulz led the team with 19 kills at .264 and one service ace.
Caitlin Jarrell was hitting an astounding .625 with 11 of her own kills.
Cassie Prior added to the kill count with eight kills in Thursday nights match. Jarrell also led the team tonight in blocks with a total of five. Right behind her was
Halli Hooks with three and Prior with one.
The fifth set went back and forth till the very end in which the Vulcans were able to secure the win with back-to-back attacks in which CUI was unable to defend.
The Golden Eagles are back on the road in their Hawai'i trip as they look to secure a win against the HPU Sharks on Saturday September 23 at 9:00 PM (PST).
