Honolulu, Hawai'i - The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team ventured into the second day of play and took on Hawai'i Pacific late Saturday night. The Golden Eagles were a force to be reckoned with as they swept the sharks in a three-set match.
Senior Kirra Schulz lead the team with 12 kills and 10 digs, followed by Kennedy Farley with 9 and Cassie Prior with 5. During the match, Alyson Fullbright and Kawehi Chang were hard at work with 17 and 13 assists, respectfully. The Sharks made errors that the Golden Eagles used to their advantage. Around the halfway point in each set, Concordia found a way to widen the gap and take over. In the third and final set, the game winning point was an ace made by senior libero Julia Wilson.
Despite the Sharks attempts to defend, the team hitting percentage was .326 and CUI came through with a total of seven service aces.
The Green and Gold completed the three-set match with scores of 25-12, 25-15, and 25-19.
