LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine men's volleyball team competed against their first ranked team No. 3 Long Beach State of the 2024 season. The Beach won in three sets with scores 25-15, 25-8, and 25-9.
Freshman
Ties Cornelissen led CUI with six kills and
Christian Galoppo contributed with four. Middles
Gil Herold and
Maxwell McCullough had two kills apiece.
Gage Doble served up an ace in the first set to go along with the couple kills he threw down.
Setter
Yotam Briger dished out 17 assists and had three digs.
Johnny Anselmo came into the match as the libero and dug up three in the third set.
The Golden Eagles will have a three game home stand starting with UC San Diego on Thursday Feb. 8 followed by playing against The Master's Saturday Feb. 10 both at 7 p.m.
