SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team competed against Dominican and earned their first sweep of the season in PacWest play with scores 25-23, 25-18, 26-24. CUI moves to 9-7 overall with a 4-4 PacWest record.
Kennedy Farley was unstoppable offensively and led CUI with 15 kills followed by
Kayden Croy reaching nine kills.
Ally Scheidle contributed with eight kills and
Dominique VadeBoncoeur came into the game for two sets.
Jadyn Orava notched double digit digs with 10.
Freshman
Delaney Gregg had seven kills and four blocks including one solo.
Caitlin Jarrell finished with three kills and had three blocks.
Back row duo
Delaney Risse and
Celia Dowell continue to scoop digs and each recorded 15 digs. Risse led the Green and Gold with two aces with three other Golden Eagles contributing with one.
Kawehi Chang dished out 31 assists to go with six digs.
The third set was a nail biter as the Penguins had set point with a 24-22 lead but three consecutive kills from Farley gave the Golden Eagles the edge over Dominican. Jarrell served up an ace to close out the set and match.
The Golden Eagles have upcoming games against newly added teams to the PacWest conference starting with Jessup on Saturday Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. before heading back in the CU Arena for Menlo College Wednesday Oct. 16 with a 7 p.m. start time.
