SAN DEIGO, Calif. - The Golden Eagles headed down to San Deigo to match up against the Point Loma Sea Lions, the #15 ranked team in the nation for men's soccer.

Kicking off the game, the Sea Lions wasted no time showing the home crowd why they are ranked the way they are. Scoring in just the 3rd minute, the Golden Eagles knew they had a tall task ahead of them, but they were ready to compete.

Before the 40th minute, the Golden Eagles penetrated through the Sea Lion defense, and Isaiah Gutierrez found the back of the net to make it a 1-1 game. Just as the half was about to come to a close, the Sea Lions scored to put them up 2-1 and a real big momentum shift right before the half.

Coming back from the half, two of the Golden Eagles veterans found a sweet connection with each other, with Tyler Oakson feeding a cutting Wyatt Burris to tie the game up at 2-2 apiece. Just as the momentum started to shift a little, the Sea Lions came right back with their own answer and went up 3-2 just two minutes after the Golden Eagles tied it up.

Despite CUI being right there the entirety of the game, they couldn't overcome that last-second first-half goal from Point Loma and ultimately fell to the Sea Lions.
