IRVINE, CALIF. – The Concordia University Irvine women's cross country team has been named Team of the Week following their outstanding performance at the UAH Chargers Invitational in Huntsville, Alabama. The Golden Eagles finished 6th out of 34 teams and secured the 2nd spot in the West Region, reflecting their strength and determination throughout the competition. 
Leading the charge was Taylor Whitfield, who finished 16th overall. She was joined by strong finishes from Claudia Vera in 35th, Elizabeth King in 43rd, Porshe Eismann in 53rd, and Mariza Chavez, who came in 60th out of the 272 runners. This impressive showing highlighted the team's depth and capabilities.
"This group is building momentum, and the best is yet to come," added head coach Keegan Bloomfield. "I'm excited to see how they continue to develop."
The Golden Eagles are now preparing for the PacWest Conference Championships on Saturday, October 26, at the OC Great Park in Irvine. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Golden Eagles as they aim to build on their recent success.
Concordia will be providing a video live stream broadcast of both cross country races that day and is hosting the event with Point Loma.
This will also be the first time in league history that this is being provided for the cross country championship races.
