IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team took control of the match against Biola on Saturday and swept them in three straight sets 25-15, 25-18, and 25-15. CUI moves to 11-8 overall with a 6-5 PacWest record.
Middles were aggressive at the net as
Caitlin Jarrell and
Delaney Gregg had six and five kills while both hitting above .420. Each middle recorded a solo block along with a combined six block assists.
Kawehi Chang had 31 assists and was challenging the Eagles blocking that led to CUI hitting over .350 as a team.
Delaney Risse and
Celia Dowell both had nine digs.
Kayden Croy was unstoppable at the net as she led CUI with 16 kills while hitting .536. This marks the eighth consecutive game where the sophomore reaches double digit in kills.
Kennedy Farley added eight kills and
Jadyn Orava came into the back row for Kennedy and had eight digs.
Not only did Chang set the tone for the offense but she also went on two service runs throughout the match that extended the Green and Gold lead where they did not allow Biola back in the game.
Macy Scheer,
Cassie Prior, and
Tori Hall came into the game and finished the game with a kill from Prior.
The Golden Eagles will travel to Hawai'i next week as they take on Hawai'i Hilo Thursday Oct. 24 at 10 p.m. PST followed by No. 10 Chaminade Saturday Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. PST.
