HONOLULU, Hawai'i – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team played against the ninth-ranked Chaminade Saturday. The Golden Eagles put up a battle against the Silverswords but Chaminade came back to win in four with scores 21-25, 33-31, 25-19, 25-14.
Chaminade had a tough start as CUI earned points off their hitting and serving errors. The Golden Eagles began to push away near the end of the set with help from the offense and taking the first set. In the second set
Celia Dowell went on a five point service run to take the lead back from the Silverswords. With having to win by two points the set went the distance toggling back and forth between each team before Chaminade closed out the set by an impressive 33-31 score.
The momentum for the next two sets went with the home team as they were able to go on some long runs that did not allow Concordia back in the game and closed out the match in four sets.
The PacWest Player of the Week
