SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team start their three game stanza up north starting with Academy of Art on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles earn their third consecutive PacWest win with scores 25-20, 25-20, 18-25, and 25-18.
 
The Golden Eagles took the lead in the first but the Urban Knights stayed closely behind until defensive specialist Celia Dowell came back into the game and went on a four point run to take a 24-17 lead and a kill from Ally Scheidle closed out the first in favor of CUI.
 
In the second set ART U was able to take to take a four point lead but CUI came back with three consecutive kills forcing a timeout from the Urban Knights. The Green and Gold side was able to stay consistent and push away to take a 2-0 lead over the home team.
 
The Urban Knights were able to fend of the Golden Eagles in the third set after slowly chipping away and forcing a fourth set. CUI took the fourth set as they were able to close out the match on a kill by Kayden Croy.
 
Croy led the Golden Eagles with another double-double night with 18 kills and 15 digs. Scheidle records a career-high of 14 kills. Caitlin Jarrell and Delaney Gregg continue to be unstoppable out of the middle as they had 10 and four kills while having a hitting percentage of at least .300.
 
Setter Kawehi Chang reached a career-high of five kills and ran the offense finishing with 42 assists and 15 digs. Libero Delaney Risse had 24 digs and Dowell had eight while serving tough from the back line with four aces.
 
CUI has a quick turnaround and will play at Dominican Thursday Oct. 10 with a 7 p.m. start time and will conclude their trip at Jessup Saturday Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.
