IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team had another match-up against No. 7 Chaminade Monday. The Golden Eagles came out tough winning the first set 25-20 but the Silverswords answered back winning the next three 25-20, 25-17, and 25-19.
Kayden Croy led the Green and Gold offensively with 15 kills with outside hitters
Kennedy Farley and
Ally Scheidle contributing 10 kills a-piece.
Caitlin Jarrell had eight kills and two solo blocks that denied the Silverswords out of the middle.
Chaminade held Concordia to only two aces throughout the match coming from
Kawehi Chang and
Delaney Risse. Chang ran the offense and dished out 36 assists with 13 digs. Risse was the libero and had 11 digs and has now reached her seventh consecutive match reaching double digits.
Celia Dowell reached 15 out of middle back.
CUI will take on Westmont Saturday Nov. 16 in Santa Barbara, Calif. with a 2 p.m. start time. The Golden Eagles will have their last game of the 2024 season in the CU Arena against Vanguard Wednesday Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. and will honor their seniors.
