Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Jesse Elrod

A Physical Draw

ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Golden Eagles faced off against a new opponent for the first time in the PacWest Conference, newcomer Jessup University, home of the Warriors.

At the first kickoff, no team had control of the game as they were feeling out their competition. Physicality seemed to be an emphasis for both teams as they were highly competitive toward ball control and possession. The Warriors were the first to strike, making it a 1-0 game heading into the half,

Opportunity didn't present itself for the Golden Eagles until the 72nd minute when Miguel Arroyo found the back of the net, weaving his way through the Warriors defense and scoring a CUI goal. Jessup responded right back with their own goal, making it a 2-1 game.

Not a minute and a half later, the Golden Eagles responded with yet another goal from season standout Miguel Arroyo, netting his sixth goal of the season. The game ended with a tied score of 2-2, and with only two more games left of the regular season, the Golden Eagles remain hopeful that they could still potentially make playoffs.
