IRVINE, Calif. – After a tough battle against Vanguard earlier in the week the CUI women's volleyball bounced back Saturday with a sweep over Hawai'i Pacific with scores 25-14, 25-22, and 25-15.
The Golden Eagles were in control for the whole match as they were able to go on long service runs and keep the Sharks from gaining momentum. CUI tallied a team high of 13 aces while holding the Sharks to hit just above .100 for the duration of the match.
Freshman
Delaney Gregg was dominant at the end as she put down nine kills while
Caitlin Jarrell added six and each recorded a solo block.
Kayden Croy had 12 kills and served up three aces that could not be returned from HPU.
Ally Scheidle notched another eight kills and
Cassie Prior had three with four digs.
Libero
Delaney Risse also contributed with three aces and had 12 digs from the back row.
Celia Dowell and
Jadyn Orava had nine and 10 digs out of middle back.
Kawehi Chang and
Macy Scheer split the setting duties and had 25 and nine assists respectively.
The Golden Eagles will take on No. 7 Chaminade on Monday Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. in the CU Arena before heading out to play at Westmont on Saturday Nov. 16 at 2 p.m.
