IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine men's volleyball team traveled down the street to take on No. 5 UC Irvine in the first of two matches in 48 hours.
The Anteaters took the first matchup with scores 25-22, 25-11, and 25-21.
The freshmen duo of
Ties Cornelissen and
Christian Galoppo led the Golden Eagles with eight and 13 kills. Outside hitter
Gage Doble contributed five kills.
Middles
Maxwell McCullough had three kills while
Clement Osahon Jr. had a dominant performance at the net with six kills while hitting a .556 hitting percentage.
Johnny Anselmo led CUI defensively with six digs while setter
Yotam Briger had five digs and 31 assists.
The Golden Eagles start a six-game home stand in the CU Arena on Saturday Feb. 24 as they look to rebound right away with a rematch against No. 5 UC Irvine.
