PROVO, Utah – The Concordia University Irvine men's volleyball team traveled for MPSF play against BYU for two games starting with Friday. BYU won in three set with close scores 25-21, 29-27, and 25-21.
Freshman
Ties Cornelissen was in double-digit territory for the ninth time this season finishing with 12 kills and hit .308. He tallied one of three solo blocks throughout the match.
Gage Doble led the Golden Eagles serving up two aces and adding four kills and digs.
Makua Marumoto and
Christian Galoppo had two kills each with Marumoto contributed at critical times with an ace and solo block.
Middles
Maxwell McCullough and
Clement Osahon Jr. were effective in the middle as they each had four kills with no errors on a combined 16 attempts. McCullough had another solid night up at the net and had six block assists while Osahan Jr. added three and one solo block.
Johnny Anselmo had six digs while
Yotam Briger had a team-high of eight digs and handed out 27 assists to the offense.
The Golden Eagles finish their series against No. 7 BYU Saturday Mar. 30 with a 6 p.m. start before coming back to the CU Arena to take on No. 6 Stanford next week.
