IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine men's volleyball team played their last home match of the 2024 season against No. 2 UCLA. The Bruins won in three with scores 25-12, 25-17, and 25-15.
Before the match started CUI honored their seven seniors
Johnny Anselmo,
Liam Roberts,
Chris Morikawa,
Gil Herold,
Cole Vigo,
Nathan Biteau, and
Wolf Beeuwsaert. All seniors made their last start on the Golden Eagles court one last time.
Christian Galoppo led the Golden Eagles with six kills while
Ties Cornelissen and
Gage Doble both contributed with five.
Makua Marumoto came into the match and added two kills.
Maxwell McCullough,
Clement Osahon Jr., Herold, and Beeuwsaert all played in the middle and each collected a kill.
Johnny Anselmo and
Jacob Reilly split the libero duties and dug up a combined five digs.
Nathan Biteau dished out five assists and
Yotam Briger handed out 18.
The Golden Eagles will finish MPSF conference play on the road against No. 2 UCLA on Saturday Apr. 13 with a 7 p.m. start time before competing in the MPSF conference tournament.
