IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University women's kicked off PacWest play Thursday against No. 25 Point Loma. The Sea lions won in three sets with scores 25-16, 25-20, and 25-19.
Freshman
Jadyn Orava led CUI with 10 kills while scooping up six digs from the back row.
Kennedy Farley contributed with nine kills and
Kayden Croy added two. Croy was solid up at the net defensively as she had three solo blocks throughout the match.
Middles
Delaney Gregg and
Caitlin Jarrell finished with a combined total of six kills and freshman Gregg had four total blocks with two solo.
Kawehi Chang ran the offense and had 20 assists with nine digs. Chang put down to discreet kills that Point Loma were not ready for.
Delaney Risse dug up 12 and
Celia Dowell was able to pick up six digs. Risse and
Ally Scheidle each served up two aces that could not be returned from the Point Loma side.
The Golden Eagles will be back in the CU Arena Saturday Sept. 21 as they take on Fresno Pacific with a slated start time of 3 p.m.
