SAN DIEGO, Calif. – After competing against Point Loma last week the Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team were looking for a rematch against the now ranked No. 20 PLNU as they improved five spots in the rankings. The Golden Eagles took the Sea Lions to four sets but ultimately finished just short 25-18, 22-25, 25-16, and 25-22.
Setter
Kawehi Chang took charge of the CUI the offense with 36 assists with the hitters while scooping up a career-high of 16 digs from right back.
Delaney Risse reached another double digit night with 13 digs in the libero position and had a team-high of two aces during the match along with tying career-high of seven assists.
Freshman
Jadyn Orava led the Green and Gold with 12 kills and digs and
Kayden Croy contributed with eight kills and another double-digit night of 10 digs and two solo blocks.
Kennedy Farley had 10 kills and four digs.
Caitlin Jarrell and
Halli Hooks played in the middle and had nine and eight kills respectively. Defensively Jarrell had three total blocks and Hooks had two solo blocks.
The Golden Eagles will be back in the CU Arena Saturday Sept. 28 for more PacWest play as they take on Azusa Pacific at 5 p.m.
