IRVINE, Calif.- This morning, the Concordia University Irvine cross country teams took on the Cougar Challenge at the San Marcos Invitational.
The women's team had several bright spots despite tough competition. Brenna Butler stood out with a personal record improvement of two minutes. Priscella Gomez and Audrey Barcenas also achieved new PRs, reflecting their hard work. Freshman Sofia Lorenzo continued her strong performance with her second PR in two weeks, and Isabelle Albaladejo recorded another two-minute PR. Darla Medina finished third among PAC West competitors, a solid performance that highlights her fight.
The men's team focused on individual performances today. Lucas Grunden improved his position by 144 spots from last week, while Cole Ridenour and Jonathan Warwick climbed 76 and 79 positions, showcasing their progress.
As the Golden Eagles move forward, they are already preparing for their next meet at the University of Alabama in Huntsville on October 12th. The lessons learned from today's race will help them improve in the coming weeks.
