COSTA MESA, Calif. - The Golden Eagles took a fifteen-minute drive to the neighboring city of Costa Mesa to take on the Vanguard Lions.

Heading into the action, the Golden Eagles were eager to play in the Lions freshly renovated new gym. Just as the Golden Eagles were eager to play, the Lions were also ready to play their new PacWest opponent.

Heading into the half, the Golden Eagles found themselves down at the half despite the Lions having more than 10 turnovers in the first 20 minutes.

Coming back from the half, the Golden Eagles tried to use the careless turnovers from the Lions to their advantage but couldn't get over the lead the Lions had built up.

Erika Maggard scored 16 points and added eight rebounds while Izzy Navarro scored 13 points but CUI wound up falling to their OC rivals by a final score of 69-44.
