IRVINE, Calif. — Concordia University Irvine women's soccer celebrated its 2025 senior class on Saturday night at Golden Eagles Field, honoring 12 outstanding Golden Eagles before taking on Azusa Pacific in PacWest action.
The program recognized Riley Urquiza, Erica Ihlein, Nicole Ihlein, Hailey Havican, Jordan Havican, Mya Stice, Morgan Reyes, Haylee Gould, Maddie Klasey, Elle Soleau, Chloe Imperali, and Madison Hall for their leadership and contributions to the program.
A large crowd of faculty, students, family, and friends filled the stands to celebrate the senior class and cheer on the Golden Eagles.
Azusa Pacific took an early 2–0 lead in the first half, finding the back of the net in the 22nd and 39th minutes. Concordia battled back with energy after the break, creating several scoring opportunities and outshooting APU 7–3 in the second half.
In the 72nd minute, Bella Barrett converted a penalty kick to put CUI on the board and spark a strong final push from the Golden Eagles. Despite the late surge, Concordia couldn't find the tying goal before time expired, falling 2–1.
Goalkeepers Riley Urquiza and Erica Ihlein combined for three saves, while Ashley Grubert, Avery Munoz, and Elle Soleau helped drive the attack with multiple shots on target.
The Golden Eagles now head to Hawaii for their next matches, facing Chaminade University on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 1:00 p.m. PT (10:00 a.m. HT).  Then the team hops islands and faces Hawai'i Hilo on Saturday during that same road trip. Fittingly, they will not be by themselves out in Hawaii, as CUI women's volleyball also has road games on Friday and Sunday, and also both CUI cross country teams are competing in the PacWest Cross Country Championships that Saturday morning.
