IRVINE, Calif. – In what was a clean and efficient outing, CUI came away with a 3-0 victory (25-15, 25-18, 25-22) over Jessup. The strength of their attacking stood out: the Golden Eagles notched 41 kills on a .255 hitting percentage, while holding Jessup to just 26 kills and a hitting percentage of .097. From the start, they set the tone, taking the first set by a comfortable margin and never letting their opponent build momentum.
Emma Wegleitner led the team with 11 kills, and Delaney Gregg added seven of her own with an impressive .500 hitting percentage. Freshman Sofia Ajmal had a career night, hitting .462 on the night. Freshman setter Grace Carollo continues to lead the offense with 22 assists, and Macy Scheer added 14 of her own.
The Green and Gold were able to maintain a high hitting percentage by getting a lot of points in transition. They had 43 digs on the night compared to the Warriors' 34. Halen Kiefer led the way for the Golden Eagles with 14, while Kendyll Winn and Carollo added eight each.
