IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team takes the 3-1 win over Azusa Pacific 24-26, 25-10, 25-18, 25-22. The Golden Eagles had lots of standout performances tonight, but one key team highlight was the 14 aces throughout the match.
Gabby Johnson and Ally Scheidle were key performers in sets two through four after a close first set. Johnson contributed three kills and a team-high seven total blocks, helping the defense keep APU's hitting percentage at .156. Scheidle brought a calm presence to the court, keeping the team together, and was one of three players to get a double-double. She totaled 11 kills and 10 digs to push the Green and Gold past APU. Macy Scheer and Halen Kiefer were the other two athletes who recorded a double-double. Scheer recorded 25 assists and 10 digs, while Kiefer added 10 kills, 15 digs, and a team-high five aces. Caitlin Jarrell and Kayden Croy were both dominating on offense. They both recorded a .429 hitting percentage with Jarrell chipping in 14 kills and Croy adding 13.
