LA MIRADA, Calif. - Despite coming up just short in a 2–3 (25-22, 19-25, 25-14, 20-25, 7-15) battle on the road, the Golden Eagles produced several bright moments to build on as they press deeper into conference play.
From the outset, the Green & Gold were locked in. Freshman setter Grace Carollo orchestrated the offense with 26 assists, anchoring the attack and creating opportunities for her hitters. On the front line and back row, both Macy Scheer and Halen Kiefer stepped up with double-double efforts: Scheer tallied 23 assists and 11 digs, while Kiefer hauled in 15 digs alongside her 10 kills.
Offensively, the Eagles also showed flashes of dominance. Middle blocker Delaney Gregg posted a staggering .615 hitting percentage.. Leading the kill effort was senior Caitlin Jarrell, who racked up 12 kills and added 4 blocks.
With those building blocks in place, the Golden Eagles have plenty of reasons for optimism heading into the next match. On Saturday, Nov. 8th, the Green and Gold will face off against Point Loma at 2:00 PM in the CU Arena.
