IRVINE, Calif. – A quick strike and a dominating display of possession on Tuesday helped the Concordia Golden Eagles extend their home unbeaten streak to a whopping 20 matches.

After their 1-0 win over Jessup, CUI is now 17-0-3 in consecutive home matches dating back to 2023.

Bella Barrett scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute. She has demonstrated a knack for cashing in early in matches to give her squad a boost and Tuesday that was the case once again. This marked the fourth time already this season that Barrett has tallied a score in the first 20 minutes of the first half during the team's recent unbeaten streak.

Senior Madison Hall and teammate Sloane De Torres led the CUI defense which limited Jessup to only one shot on goal.  De Torres nearly doubled Concordia's lead with a nifty attempt off a set piece that nearly curled to the top right corner of the net. It was from almost the exact same spot from where she scored off a free kick in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Dominican.

With the team's latest shutout victory, senior goalkeeper Riley Urquiza notched the 26th individual shutout of her career.  She now owns sole possession of the school record for individual shutouts after passing Bekah Garvin (25). 

Concordia improved to 7-1-2 overall this season and also 2-0-1 in PacWest Conference play. The Green and Gold have not lost this year since the season opener.

Next up for the Golden Eagles will be a home date this Saturday, Oct. 11 against Point Loma. The women will play at 4 p.m. PT followed by the men's match at 6:30 p.m.  Both CUI teams are in the middle of a five-game home stand in the heart of conference play.
