IRVINE, Calif. – Three Golden Eagles from the Concordia University Irvine men's soccer program received All-PacWest honors as the conference announced its postseason awards this week.

Senior captain
Domenyk Jara and senior midfielder
Miguel Arroyo were each named First Team All-PacWest, while senior defender
Ryan Smith earned Second Team recognition.

In their first season under head coach
Joshua Glover, the Golden Eagles finished with eight wins, their most since 2019, and recorded their first winning season in six years. The defense also collected six clean sheets, which marked CUI's best defensive record since 2017.

Jara anchored the back line and led the Green and Gold to those six shutouts as the team captain. He played all 90 minutes in 13 of his 16 appearances and added four assists, including two in a 2-0 victory over Cal State San Marcos. Jara also scored the game-winning goal in a big road shutout at Westmont and was named PacWest Defender of the Week during the season.

"Domenyk is truly deserving of this recognition," said Glover. "He has been incredible as our captain, leading in both character and performance all year long. His leadership is a major reason why we have had our first winning record in six years and our best defensive record in eight years. We will never have another Dom. The player he is, the leader he is, and the man of God he is. He has left a lasting legacy and personified the type of player this program will seek to recruit for years to come."

Arroyo continued to shine in the midfield, leading CUI with 14 points on five goals and four assists. He also netted two game-winners in victories over UC Merced and Chaminade. The former PacWest Newcomer of the Year built on last season's success after earning Second Team All-Region and First Team All-PacWest honors. Impressively, CUI has never lost when Arroyo scores a goal, boasting an 8-0-1 all-time record in those matches.

"Miguel is a big time player," added Glover. "He can change a game in a moment and has done so many times this year. His quality on the field is matched by the person he is off the field, in the way he cares for his teammates and the excellence he brings every day. He has elevated our program in so many ways, and I am delighted he is being recognized for this award."

Smith rounded out the All-Conference selections with a Second Team nod after a breakout senior season. He scored a career-high five goals to tie for the team lead and finished second on the team with 12 points. Smith was a key part of the defensive unit that produced six shutouts and helped improve the team's goal differential from plus one last year to plus ten this season.

"Ryan has been a fantastic leader for us all throughout the year," said Glover. "He has shown up in big games and big moments, both defensively and offensively. I am grateful for how he has led with intentionality, care, and quality for his teammates and this program."

The 2025 campaign marked a major step forward for the Golden Eagles, as they set new standards of excellence under Coach Glover's leadership and established a strong foundation for the future of the CUI men's soccer program.
