Golden Eagles Open The Floodgates

Irvine, Calif. -Under heavy rain at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center, the Concordia Golden Eagles delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, rolling past the UC Merced Bobcats 18–5 on Friday night. With the win, Concordia improves to 18–12 and builds strong momentum heading into Senior Day.

Concordia wasted no time seizing control. A 5–1 first quarter set the tone, highlighted by sharp ball movement and pressure on both ends. The Golden Eagles showcased their depth throughout the night, with 12 different players recording at least one point.

The offense caught fire in the third quarter, exploding for seven goals to put the game out of reach. Dimitrios Koritsas led the attack with a 3-goal, 2-assist performance, while Oscar Garcia Blomback matched him with three goals of his own. Kai Young added two more to continue his strong late-season push, and distributor Luke Addington put on a passing clinic with three assists.

Concordia's defensive unit was equally impressive. The Eagles held UC Merced scoreless in the third frame and limited the Bobcats to just .167 shooting on the night. Goalkeeper Pablo de Souza was stellar in his 24 minutes, allowing only two goals while stopping ten shots for an impressive .833 save percentage. Backup Derek Maddox added five saves in the fourth.

Additional contributions came from all corners of the roster—Harry Bentham posted a 1-goal, 3-assist outing, while Nicolas Fuchs, Carter Clenney, Kaliq Khan, Luc Chapman, Levi Riegelmann, and Cade Peterson all found the back of the net.

With balanced scoring, lockdown defense, and standout goalie play, it was a statement win for the Golden Eagles in their final home stretch of the season.
