IRVINE, Calif. - On Senior Night, Concordia University Irvine paused to honor five outstanding players —
Nevada Knowles,
Mattie Prior,
Cassie Prior,
Caitlin Jarrell, and
Ally Scheidle — recognizing not just their talent, but everything they've poured into the Golden Eagles women's volleyball program. The atmosphere in CU Arena was filled with gratitude as teammates, coaches, and fans celebrated the legacy these seniors have built over their CUI careers.
The coaching staff, led by
Eryn Leja-Martin,
Alex Leja, and
Payton Spoja, took a moment to pay tribute to the program's graduate assistants
Camille Harvey and
Lauryn Andrew, thanking them for their dedication and for the impact they've had in mentoring the student-athletes.
On the court, the Golden Eagles delivered a performance worthy of the evening.
Emma Wegleitner posted a career- and team-high 19 digs, anchoring the back row with tenacity and resilience. She, along with
Ally Scheidle, recorded the team's two double-doubles. Scheidle also posted a season-high of 12 kills, while adding 12 digs. Meanwhile,
Sofia Ajmal turned in an exceptional hitting night, with a .438 percentage, helping drive the Golden Eagles' attack.
As the night closed, there was a clear sense that this wasn't just a final home match: it was a celebration of years of commitment, growth, and heart. The seniors left the court knowing they had left a lasting impact on CUI volleyball.
