Fullerton, Calif. - The Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles fought hard in a fast-paced matchup against Cal State Fullerton, ultimately falling 14–11 in a back-and-forth contest that showcased CUI's balanced attack and relentless effort.
Offensively, the Golden Eagles spread the scoring around, with Kai Young, Hugo Wouters, Harry Bentham, and Kaliq Khan each netting two goals apiece. Sam Diamond added a goal and two assists, while Porter Rosenlof tallied two assists of his own, keeping the offense flowing. Dimitrios Koritsas and Carter Clenney also found the back of the net to round out the scoring for CUI.
In goal, Pablo de Souza anchored the defense with nine saves and even chipped in an assist, helping to ignite fast breaks and maintain momentum throughout the match. The Golden Eagles also made their mark defensively, collecting six steals and drawing 15 exclusions, showing their tenacity in all phases of play.
Despite the loss, Concordia's energy and teamwork were on full display, proving this squad is ready to make a statement as the season continues.
