SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Golden Eagles headed down to San Diego to face off against the Sea Lions from Point Loma University on Saturday evenings competition.
Looking back to their last win, the Golden Eagles were locked in defensively to the start of that game, as well as against the Sea Lions. When the defense is rolling, the offense is right there alongside.
Going toe-to-toe with the Sea Lions offense, the Golden Eagles only saw themselves down by 4 points heading into the second quarter. Starting the second, CUI started the quarter right next to PLNU.
As the quarter went on, the Sea Lions went on a 6-0 run in the middle of the 2nd and the Golden Eagles couldn't bounce back before the half. Entering the break the Sea Lions were up 35-25.
The Golden Eagles came back after the half trying to gain a resurgence of energy but fell short in the 3rd quarter. As the 4th quarter came around, CUI chipped away minute by minute and only found themselves down 6.
Unfortunately, the Golden Eagles could not overcome the large 3rd quarter deficit they faced and ultimately were bested by the Sea Lions with a final score of 66-52.
