IRVINE, Calif.  – The Concordia University Irvine women's basketball team secured an 63-45 victory over the visiting Academy of Art Urban Knights on Thursday evening as they kicked off their final home stand of the year.

Erika Maggard scored a career-high 23 points and sophomore guard Izzy Navarro added 11 to help lead a balanced CUI attack. CUI led by as many as 20 before intermission and did not look back.

Nine different Golden Eagles scored at least one basket in the first half. Maggard led the way with 13 points and Navarro had a dozen by the break.  

The defense was also superb as CUI held ART U to just 2-for-13 shooting from three-point land in the first half. ART U finished just 3-for-22 from behind the arc for the game.

The Golden Eagles will look to continue that winning momentum on Senior Day this Saturday, March 1 as Concordia welcomes Dominican in the regular season finale. Game time is set for 1 p.m. followed by the men's game at 3 p.m.
