IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team went the distance in a thrilling five-set battle (25-14, 25-19, 18-25, 21-25, 9-15) against Chaminade University, falling just short in a match that saw major momentum swings on both sides.

CUI came out strong, dominating the first two sets with aggressive serving, sharp defense, and a well-balanced offense. The Golden Eagles controlled the tempo early, cruising to a 25-14 win in the opening set and carrying that energy into a 25-19 victory in the second set. 

One of the highlights of the night came from junior right side Kayden Croy, who anchored the defense with a career-high 18 digs. At the net, Delaney Gregg was nearly unstoppable, swinging with confidence to post a season-best .550 hitting percentage. Another bright spot for the Green and Gold was Grace Carollo, who made her official Golden Eagle debut. 

Despite the loss, the Golden Eagles showed resilience while taking on one of the PacWest's top teams. With strong individual performances and continued growth, the Green and Gold have plenty to build on as conference play continues.
