IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team improved to 3-0 after a dominant weekend at home in the Golden Eagle Classic after sweeping Texas Women's University on Saturday, Sept.6. 

The Golden Eagles defeated the Pioneers in straight sets 26-24, 25-23, and 25-15 in a convincing performance from behind the service line, racking up a season-high 12 aces. Senior Caitlin Jarrell accounted for four aces and hit an impressive .385 with seven kills on 13 attempts. 

Senior Nevada Knowles followed closely behind with two service aces to go along with her third straight double-double, finishing with 10 digs and 21 assists. Freshman Kendyll Winn anchored the back court, recording a career high 13 digs along with four assists in only her third career start. 

Redshirt-sophomore Emma Wegleitner proved to be an offensive threat for the Green and Gold this season, registering 14 kills on the night for her third straight match with double-digit kills to lead all players with 15 points.
