Hilo, Hawai'i — The Concordia University Irvine men's basketball team wrapped up its stop in beautiful Hilo on Wednesday night, falling 73–63 to Hawai'i Hilo inside the Vulcan Gymnasium.
The Golden Eagles led 30–26 at halftime after an efficient opening period, shooting 42.3% from the field and 50% from three-point range in the first half. CUI kept its foot on the gas early in the second half, but the Vulcans used a strong 47-point final period to swing momentum and pull away late.
Marcellus Edwards led all Golden Eagles with 18 points, going 4-for-4 from the free throw line while adding defensive pressure throughout the game. Kaden Minter finished with 13 points, while Macarhy Morris chipped in 11 points and a team-high six rebounds.
CUI shot 43.1% from the floor and knocked down 10 three-pointers on the night, but Hawai'i Hilo capitalized on second-half opportunities and closed the game strong to secure the home win.
