IRVINE, Calif. -
Kaden Minter scored 22 points and
MaCarhy Morris added 21 to lead Concordia University Irvine past second-place Chaminade on Saturday evening.
The Golden Eagles limited the Silverswords to a paltry 1-for-11 from behind the arc and shot more efficiently then their Hawaii counterparts in the eventual 80-68 Concordia victory.
Concordia's defense spearheaded by
Radek Homer held Chaminade sharpshooter Nathan Medina to a miserable 4-for-17 shooting night. The transfer from Biola finished with just 10 points and was a very uncharacteristic 0-for-8 on three-pointers.
In addition to Minter and Morris having good nights on the offensive side,
Marcellus Edwards also joined the fun with 16 points while Homer contributed 10 points.Â
CUI is in the middle of a five game stretch in a 10-day period after beating Jessup and Chaminade to open that stretch. Next up is a quick turnaround with Menlo on Tuesday night in Irvine.
The Oaks and Golden Eagles are slated to tip at 7:15 p.m. PT on Tuesday following the women's game at 5 p.m.
