IRVINE, Calif. - Following the best season in program history, the Concordia University Irvine men's water polo team saw 15 student-athletes earn WWPA All-Academic honors.
To qualify for the WWPA All-Academic Team, a player must:
- Be an active participant of their team. Â
Â
- Carry over aÂ
3.0Â Cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
- Be classified as a "
full-time" student for all terms of attendance.
- Have completed a minimum ofÂ
1 semester or 2 quarters at their institution.
Here are the 15 CUI student-athletes who met all those criteria and excelled in the classroom this past season:

De Souza, Wouters and Young were also
named ACWPC All-Americans after Concordia's best season in the NCAA DII era. The Golden Eagles won their first WWPA Conference Tournament and earned their first trip to the NCAA Touranment, where they threw a scare into No. 1 seed USC in the national quarterfinals. Concordia's Justin Johnson was also named NCAA DII Coach of the Year and
Konstantinos Koulouris was tabbed as NCAA DII Assistant Coach of the Year.
