IRVINE, Calif. - The PacWest Conference announced on Thursday that Concordia University Irvine will be one of six schools competing together as a new PacWest-sponsored sport starting with the 2027 spring season.
Concordia will be joined by Vanguard, Westmont, Jessup, Fresno Pacific and Hawaii Pacific as the six PacWest members during the inaugural 2027 conference season. The league has stated that it is exploring adding additional schools to compete in stunt as well.
"With several member institutions already sponsoring STUNT and others exploring the opportunity, it is a natural fit for our conference," PacWest Commissioner Brad Jones said in a press release. "We are confident STUNT will strengthen our championship offerings and create exciting new opportunities for our student-athletes and institutions."

"On behalf of USA Cheer and STUNT, we are thrilled that the PacWest is adding STUNT as a championship sport," said Amy Haney, the current
Director of College and High School STUNT, and former CUI head stunt coach. "This marks a tremendous opportunity for student-athletes, as a dedicated championship platform not only recognizes the hard work they invest every day, but also advances the growth of the sport across the conference. We're excited to see the PacWest leading the way and expanding meaningful competitive opportunities for its programs."
This season, Concordia is off to a 5-2 start after winning its first four games of the season. The Golden Eagles recently defeated their neighbors from Vanguard 23-18.
For this year's schedule, the Golden Eagles head to Northern California in a few days to begin March with four games scheduled in Rocklin. CUI will face UC Davis and the host Jessup Warriors on Friday, March 6 and then the schedule has them competing with Fresno Pacific and Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, March 7 as well.
The next home game for CUI stunt is a rare Sunday contest against Jessup on March, 15 at 1 p.m. PT.
