CUI showed its depth and intensity throughout both contests, opening the day with crisp execution and strong momentum, then battling through a challenging second matchup to cap a demanding day in the pool.
CUI 23, AUSTIN 9
The Concordia Irvine Golden Eagles opened the day in dominant fashion, rolling past Austin College 23–9 in game one behind a balanced offensive attack and strong goalkeeping. CUI controlled the tempo from the opening sprint, building separation early and never allowing the Roos to find sustained momentum. The Golden Eagles' depth was on full display, as multiple players contributed on the scoresheet while the defense limited Austin College to just nine goals on 20 shots.
Amber Lewis led the offensive surge with a game-high five goals on seven shots, adding an assist for six points, while Hannah Edwards and Mia Hueston each tallied five points apiece. Despite the final score, CUI showed resilience on both ends of the pool, matching CSUN's physicality and creating consistent offensive pressure while continuing to defend at a high level.
Concordia generated 28 shots and spread its scoring across the lineup, with Alexa De Villiers leading the way with two goals. Emeline Smiley added a strong all-around performance with a goal and two assists, while Anna Tyukasz and Sofia Smith each chipped in a goal and an assist.
