IRVINE, CALIF. – The Concordia Golden Eagles showed strong moments of execution and energy in their matchup against No. 5 USC (17-25, 12,25, 18-25).
Paul Schulteis provided a major spark for Concordia, delivering the most efficient performances of the night. Schulteis finished with six kills on seven attempts without committing an error, posting an outstanding .857 hitting percentage. He also helped shift momentum in Concordia's favor with three service aces, using a tough serving run to energize the Golden Eagles and create problems for the Trojan reception.
Matt Fisher directed the Concordia offense effectively, recording 20 assists while keeping the attack moving and putting hitters in position to succeed. Fisher's steady distribution helped the Golden Eagles find rhythm offensively during key stretches of the match.
Defensively, Logan Whitaker and Joseph Sani led the Golden Eagles with four digs each, tying for the team high and helping keep rallies alive throughout the match. Concordia continued to compete point-by-point and showed flashes of strong offensive efficiency and serving pressure against a talented USC lineup.
