Grand Junction, Colo. – The Concordia University Irvine men's lacrosse team showed resilience and offensive persistence despite a tough 19-8 final against Colorado Mesa, battling through all four quarters and generating consistent scoring opportunities.
After falling behind early, the Golden Eagles responded with a strong third quarter, outscoring Colorado Mesa 4-1 to cut into the deficit and shift momentum. That stretch highlighted CUI's ability to adjust on the fly and execute offensively against a nationally competitive opponent.
Offensively, Concordia saw balanced production with multiple contributors finding the back of the net. Max Texter tallied two goals, while Jeremy Barnes, Jack Tanner, Parker Teel, Noah Pillow, Dawson Loudermilk, and Brody Wallace added one apiece, showcasing the team's depth and ability to distribute scoring.
The Green and Gold were aggressive throughout, finishing with 24 shots on goal, demonstrating their ability to generate chances and keep pressure on the Mavericks' defense.
Defensively, Concordia stayed active and disciplined, forcing 22 turnovers and securing 34 ground balls.
Although the final score didn't reflect the competitiveness shown in stretches, the Golden Eagles' third-quarter surge and consistent offensive pressure highlighted a team capable of competing at a high level. CUI will look to build on those positives moving forward as they continue conference play.
UP NEXT: The Green and Gold will be home on the 28th at 1 pm.
