CUI's Madison Is An Academic All-American!

Two-Way Threat For Golden Eagles Also Voted PacWest Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year

IRVINE, Calif. – Wyatt Madison continues to impress off the field as he earned two academic awards: CSC (College Sports Communicators) Second Team Academic All-America® NCAA DII and the PacWest Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
 
After an impressive season as a two-way player he received CSC Second Team Academic All-America® in the designated hitter spot. Madison is the first CUI baseball player to earn this award. Click here to see the full list.
 
The two-way player was named All-Region as a Utility/Pitcher and went 5-1 with a 3.21 ERA in PacWest play and finished season with 73 strikeouts in 67.1 IP. He struck out a career-high 13 Ks against at Westmont and reached double-digits twice.
 
At the plate the Los Alamitos, Calif. native started 55 PacWest games while also hitting .277 with a team-high 10 home runs and four triples to go with six doubles, six steals and 39 RBI. He finished with 15 multi-hit games including five in a row.
 
For the PacWest award one person per sport was selected by the conference's Sports Information Directors which combines excellence in their sport and in the classroom.
