Wyatt Madison Is PacWest Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year!

Baseball Standout & Engineering Major Makes It Two Years In A Row For a Concordia Male Athlete To Win This Prestigious Honor

IRVINE, Calif. – How's this for an unexpected birthday present?

Right around the time Wyatt Madison celebrated his birthday, he found out that he has been voted the PacWest Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year!

Among a talented group of male nominees in the conference who were named PacWest Scholar-Athletes of the Year for each sport, Madison emerged as the 2026 winner of this prestigious honor.

"I am so grateful to have received this award," said Madison. "It's an honor to just have the opportunity to continue my athletic career while furthering my education, so to be recognized with an award like this is extremely humbling."

Madison has excelled both in the classroom and on the diamond in his three years here at Concordia University Irvine.

A 4.0 GPA student who is majoring in engineering, Madison was also recently named a CSC Second Team NCAA DII Academic All-America® selection and the PacWest Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

A talented two-way player, Madison was named All-Region as a Utility/Pitcher and went 5-1 with a 3.21 ERA in PacWest play and finished season with 73 strikeouts in 67.1 IP. He struck out a career-high 13 Ks against Westmont and reached double-digits twice.

At the plate, the Los Alamitos, Calif. native started 55 PacWest games while also hitting .277 with a team-high 10 home runs and four triples to go with six doubles, six steals and 39 RBI. He finished with 15 multi-hit games including five in a row. He was also First Team All-PacWest.

"My teammates and coaches help give me motivation to show up every day and enjoy the sport that I play," said Madison. "My professors support me through all of the time that I have to miss class. And most importantly I'd say my parents have helped me along my journey and taught me the importance of working hard."

This is actually the second straight time that a Concordia Golden Eagles has won the PacWest Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.

Former track and field star Dylan Fox also earned this unique accolade last summer. Fox went on to become an All-American as well at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships.
