IRVINE, Calif. - The Concordia University men's soccer team had a hard-fought match against Chaminade, where CUI won 1-0. This was their first win in PacWest Conference play.
The Golden Eagles had 20 shots tonight with 9 being shots on goal. They held the Silverswords to just shots all night where goalkeeper Sebastian Marin saved their only shot on goal.
CUI only scored one goal but it was the deciding goal to seal the victory. The goal was scored by defender Jonathan Moreno in the 11th minute. The goal was assisted by midfielder Marcus Ozmai and midfielder Angel Reyes. For Moreno, this is his second goal of the season with these assists being the third for Ozmai and Reyes.
Defenders David Garcia and Daniel Parker had key plays to keep Chaminade shutout from scoring.
This moves the men's record to 1-1 in the PacWest Conference and 5-4-1 overall.
The Golden Eagles look to keep their momentum rolling for Thursday, Oct. 1st when they take on Hawai'i Pacific at home. The game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. PT.
